Strandfuls of strand

The philosophy of strand.
Strand. a verb. to be brought into or leave in a difficult position. stranded.
Strand. a noun. a complex of fibre materials twisted together to form something as a whole.

ok lets talk simple. the verb strand, is bad.

the noun strand, is good. cause fibre is good, what more when fibres are twisted together. which only makes it better.

You still didn't get it.

basically the point of me being philosophically stupid here (rachel's idea) is we think both strands represent the cluster of good and bad events, the ups and downs throughout this year which its time that we wrap em all up. :)

Two double O eight. has been a very superb year. everything is just selectively random. the toughest. the busiest. the craziest. the most enjoyable. the suckest. etc all in one year. just the right amount to keep things balanced.

It gets so frustrating when you try to recall something but you can't. Or even at a particular moment you find it so amusing that you wish you have people to share with. Dying to know that they are there experiencing together. Or you just happen to have a chance. an opportunity. but you either just sucked it all up or let it go. oh well, it happens to me often this year.

On the other hand, there are certain things which are quite decorated at will. i realised the need to have friends and buddies. the ways and means to living wonderfully and all. i feel so blessed not to have suffered starvation or being homeless (tsunami and earthquakes incidents) which guided me to practise gratitude and appreciation. note to self: say thanks for your food everyday.

i think december would be the best period of this year. those who were there in my december, you should know why. :)

blah blah oh. this year

i dreamt a lot.
i had tonnes of laughters.
i had paintball.
i shouted a lot.
i was grateful to have peaceful times at home.
i had parties.
i did not pee when i took the suicide fall in genting.
i scored a blue teddy bear in funfair.
i was lucky to have sucked in exams but managed to slip into a university.
i was glad to have my cousie married. just.
i had hot air-stewardess smiling through my december.
i wanted to have a diver's license and engaged to a dolphin that blushes.

i was the 9th letter in the alphabets. C:


Upnext. what we (me and my friends here) called group-blogging. or literally they just prefer to stuff my blog with everything on new year's eve.

here's our so-called new year's resolutions, goodies and reminders which we thought its please to share.

Rachel's self-reminder
1. Always mean what you say. Hotties as in dudes. Are they really hot? As in raising one's temperature? I don't feel hot when i look at hotties. So why hot? (she and her spontaneous brain)

2. Always lock the door first before having sex in somewhere public, like changing rooms etc. And always knock the door if its shut. Courtesy. (too much tv)

"One shoe can change one's life" - Cinderella. Do take into account of the smallest details in everything. Footwear can be far more important than your stepmother.

Me. as Mr. Lame.
I see why life's often being said as a movie.
God's watching our lives as if he's watching a tv show. every new year is when god takes a break and refills his popcorns for the next show. that's why you'll hear loud fireworks in new year's eve. cause he's popping the cornseeds.

Wonders Of San Diego

to jason phang, my inspiration.

It's been awhile mates. christmas is just round the corner. this time. ill be touring you with guys who originated from san diego that amaze me. first of all. they are switchfoot. next. he is jason mraz. something that might or might not blow your mind.

But i think you should check out all the vids and links. and read till the very end of this post. cause its healthy. :D

take time to know em. and make yourself feel good.






switchfoot is a band named after a surfing technique. might be something like switching your feet when you had the waves on board i guess. they started out as a 3-piece (jon and tim foreman. and chad butler.) and ended up a 5-man band when one of their friends quitted his job while the other had his personal band broke up. together they joined forces (hahahahah) and decided to give music a go.

there are a great variety of songs from them. yeah. including christianities'. the songs represent everything that they first fell in love with about music. when it comes to making music, i like them as they said being honest than momentarily cool.

Their music was always focusing on feelings therefore able to convey our thoughts on life. the leader, jon was proud and grateful to be creating music and screaming out with his bandmates every night. i respect their brotherhood. it certainly feels like a family out there.

what i like about them is all of them. they shared love. they were so simple. yet, which made them unique. their songs reached the heart as if we were one. they were just great in being passionate of what they had faith in.

Jason Mraz is upnext. an acoustic wonder. well, all i could say is he's one hellaof a guy from heaven with honey sugary voice. the first time i listened to his song was geek in the pink. which was just ordinary to me. like geek. pink. okay. until then, i was captivated as i discovered more awesome songs coming up from him.

i love the fact that he is a very free-minded person, who delivers great songs and his thoughts to the open public while at the same time enjoying it as well. together with his partner, toca rivera dot com and various kinds of musicians, he's able to perform extraordinary music and he often came up with surprising lyrics in the end of a song which they call it freestyling. now that's jason mraz.

his words make you think. he keeps your brain going on and on like having some kind of energy bar. and he has a wide wise sense of humour. its quite. addictive.

yeah i like him. he is witty. fast. unpredictable.

Quick brief. Switchfoot has been the organiser for "San Diego Bro-am" which's basically a fund-raising cultural event. Click the photo for more. San diego has been the home of surfing and board skating cultures and hometown for both switchfoot and mraz. so its not uncommon for them to love surfing and all. This event helps to gather surfers around as well helping those disabled children in need. thats. a very good thing.

true. i just got bored and ended up with something like these. i was browsing through the internet until i saw jason mraz's album arts and found em amusing. so it inspired me to doodle.
